Spirit of Innovation and Community Tracing its global commerce roots to the earliest days of merchant sea trading, the Boston's North Shore region boasts a rich and diverse history of innovation. For over 300 years, it has been a hub for numerous industries, including: fishing, whaling, ship building, shoe manufacturing, leather tanning, turbine engine production, printing, financial services, software development, biomedical research, and the production of biomedical devices. The contributions of local industry pioneers are legendary and they continue to inspire us - United Shoe, General Electric, Metal Hydrides, EG&G, Sylvania, A.C. Lawrence, Eastman Gelatin, Parker Brothers, Hammond Organ, and more recently, Analog Devices and Analogic. Embodying the spirit of these pioneers, the North Shore Technology Council's core membership represents a broad and diverse mixture of technology industries, roles and interests - genomics, software and hardware, information security, IT services, biotechnology, medical devices, chip manufacturing, lab equipment, and defense technology. Our members include executives and managers of technology companies and the companies they rely on for goods and services. We have many independent consultants that serve technology businesses, as well as educators and community leaders. Some members are launching new ventures, some are researching new technologies, and some are just interested in staying abreast of the latest news in technology. The reasons our members join are as varied as the interests and experiences they bring to the organization. Yet, they share one common goal - expand the technology community north of Boston. Whether you're a corporation, or an individual, there is a North Shore Technology Council membership type that will fit your needs. And, we welcome you to attend one of our events or contact us at members@nstc.org to learn more about how you can benefit from joining. Members may elect to join the North Shore Technology Council as either individual members or corporate members. Individual membership is not transferable; however corporate memberships may be shared between a group of employees.
