Bio/Medical Technology Section A fundamental objective of the North Shore Technology Council is to foster growth of technology and technology-related business north of Boston. Today, biotechnology and medical devices are among the most exciting and promising sectors. In 2005, the NSTC initiated a task force to identify the needs the council is uniquely positioned to address for the biotechnology and medical devices sector. What emerged from this effort is the Bio/Medical Technology Section. While an integral part of the NSTC, it is developing exciting new programs with content specifically tailored to meet the special needs this business community. From the beginning, the NSTC has regularly engaged speakers from the region's biotechnology and medical device companies for its popular Business Breakfast Series. Recent programs that incorporated speakers from the biotechnology and medical device arena include Are You Smart About Intellectual Property: Five Things You Must Know About Aligning Intellectual Property Strategy with Business Strategy, featuring Cell Signaling Technology, and Risk, Compliance and Quality Assurance: Does Your Company Have the Internal Expertise, with representatives from AbioMed and Analogic. The Bio/medical Technology Section is planning other events that will bring together executives from many of the region's bio/medical technology companies. The NSTC’s goals are to forge community among these "business neighbors", celebrate their successes, and help accelerate their growth.
