TALBOK™ is the product of Dr. Iris Stammberger’s quest to understand effective decision-making in knowledge-intensive work environments. Dr. Stammberger, a cognitive scientist and management consultant, started her career as an engineer working in highly automated and technologically sophisticated environments where she experienced the challenges of complex decision making. Dr. Stammberger’s quest led her to explore the interdependence of the various domains involved in complex work — technology, people, tasks, projects, quality standards, processes, and knowledge demands — the skills and tools that support decision-making and the steps needed to improve performance and learning. TALBOK™ is the result of her decades-long exploration. This proprietary conceptual framework and methodology helps experts in the creation and implementation of performance indicators that guide their decision-making to achieve better performance. TALBOK™ has been successfully implemented by experts in a wide range of disciplines, in numerous organizations and institutions across the globe.
