Rick Williams is founder and Managing Director of Williams Advisory Partners. Advisory Partners helps leaders at critical junctures make important decisions – creating a viable business model, preparing to raise capital, working to overcome barriers to growth and preparing to sell the company.
Rick serves on three technology company boards. He has been board chair of a medical device company and a bank/VC firm. His industry experience includes medical technology, financial services, high tech and real estate investment and development. His thought leadership with a CEO and board perspective is published nationally.

Rick was a management consultant with the global consulting firm Arthur D. Little, Inc., working on business strategy and acquisitions and the economic and strategic impact of government policy and regulations on a broad spectrum of industries. Rick is past President of the Harvard Business School Association of Boston. Before that, he was a physicist with Itek Corp, where he developed space and defense related photo & electro/optical systems.

Panelist-Jean Hammond


Jean Hammond is a co-founder and partner at LearnLaunch. She is also the founder of JPH Associates. A serial entrepreneur, she co-founded AXON Networks, which was acquired by 3Com, led 3Com WAN marketing activities and also founded Quarry Technologies. Jean is an active angel investor focusing on early stage high-tech and high-growth start-ups. She is a member of Hub Angels and Launchpad Venture Group, and she is the founder of the Boston Forum of Golden Seeds. She has an active portfolio and has served as a director or advisor with over 30 of the companies within her portfolio.

Jean was awarded the 2011 Monosson Prize for Entrepreneurship Mentoring by the MIT Sloan School of Management and the 2014 Hans Severiens Award by the Angel Capital Association in recognition of her work advancing angel investing and entrepreneurship. Jean also was awarded the 2013 Boston Business Journal Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jean received her MS from MIT Sloan School of Management in 1986 and her BS in Biology from Boston University.

Steven R. London is a partner in the Health Sciences Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Boston office. A member of the Corporate and Securities Practice Group, Mr. London concentrates his practice on corporate finance, securities and general corporate matters, and focuses on emerging growth companies and middle market businesses.

For the past 25 years, his activities have included public and private equity and debt offerings, venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions and Securities and Exchange Commission compliance matters. Mr. London represents, as general and special counsel, publicly traded corporations (stock exchange and Nasdaq listed), emerging high technology growth companies, and entrepreneurs in the initial start-up and development stages of business. He also represents foreign companies entering into the United States market. Mr. London has extensive experience in negotiating licensing, manufacturing, marketing and distribution agreements, joint ventures and strategic alliances.
